St. Matthew’s Tamil Church is a Tamil church affiliated with the Church of North India (CNI) and the Pune Diocesan Council (PDC). It is located in the city of Pune, in the state of Maharashtra, India.
St. Matthew’s Tamil Church is 133 years old, according to the inscription on one of the plaques in the church, dated 1892. The foundation of this church was laid on 29th September 1893. The church is of early English Gothic style architecture. In 1901, the church building was extended on the right and left sides.
Since 1996, the church holds a revival meeting every year in the month of September, when the Day of St. Matthew, the Apostle is celebrated.
